Falling Ants by Doodle Pantry

This is another coloured  digital ant stamp from the Doodle Pantry set called ` Falling Ants Color Only'. So adorable.

I actually merged three images together to get this one. Two different images of ants  on a leaf   were merged and then the sentiment was added.

I  used die cuts to frame the merged images and decorated with leaves,  a flower and some ribbon. The background was created using the Cuttlebug `Candy Cane Stripe' embossing folder.  Very fast and very simple!

I chose the Daffodil from the Daffodil and Sweet Pea stamp set released  April 20th,2011

The daffodil to me is a an early sign of spring, not as early as a crocus, but early. I also think of the daffodil as an Easter flower or the Easter lily ( althought they are not quite the same - Lilies are Lilium, daffodils are Narcissus), I made the card thinking of it as the Easter Lily...

Challenges entered:
Dream Valley Challenges: challenge # 5 Easter
Sparkles Forum Challenges: #9 Easter
The Crafty Pad Challenge #17: Easter or Spring
I Did it Creations: challenge #51 Happy Easter
Bows and Berries: Easter
Die Cut Dreams: Challenge #87 It's Easter Time -
Pear Tree Designs Weekly Challenge BLog: Easter

Card Details:
Digital Stamp: Doodle pantry Daffodil and Sweet Pea stamp set
Die Cuts: the large yellow  circle is from Marianne Designs as is the white flourish, all others are  Spellbinders Nestabilities
Punch: The yellow flower is handmade from a Fiskars Punch (the two large pointed petals)  and the smaller petals are from Marvy 1/2 " and 1" daisy punches. The branches are from  two MS punches.
Note: I made the yellow strip border on the left hand side from a border punch I bought at Michaels, it has no brand on it. I punched one die on a strip of paper I had cut and then punched the other side by not lining them up to match but slightly off to give the zig zag pattern.
Markers: Prismacolors
Other: buttons from my Mother's old button collection and the doily from my stash
Speaking of buttons  I left the button on the flower with no string as, well I forgot and it would have wrecked the flower to take it off and well.......:D

Daffodil:        It is native to southern Europe but naturalized elsewhere.

Got to admit I love this one, a book mark I can always get a giglgle from, not sure if anyone else would appreciate it (it cracks me up) so not sure if I will give it away or not, but for sure it will always have a home with me.   Now having said that  I seem to lose them as fast I make them, so not sure about the 'always have a home' bit :D

I asked Laurie if I could try the coloured 'falling ants' image as I have never used a coloured image before. They work super, just wished my printer was a tad better, but I am still pleased with the result.  I used the  yellow and green DP from the set for my background paper - love it! I also merged two of the images together to get one image. Need a little more work on that  but what a fabulous technique, I see all kinds of possibilities. Laurie Wilson has a tutorial on how to do this, see here.
