Happy Day

Here is just a little fun card I started a few weeks back.. The little caterpillar eating the apple is a precoloured digital image from Doodle Pantry, as is the sentiment, same set actually(called Apple Snack) and can be found here!  The vine flourishes are from Whimsy stamps and the big butterfly is a Marianne Designs die cut. The two smaller butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch. The image was cut out with a Spellbinders Lacy Squares die . I used the 'starburst ' embossing folder for the yellow background.

The Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge #22 starts  April 1st  (12:00 noon EST)- theme just use a Doodle Pantry image. If you don't have one there are lots of freebies at the Doodle Pantry Shop and you  get a Doodle Pantry image just for participating in the challenge. A Basket Full of Kitties

This card is for my sister's   Birthday and some of the buttons I selected for the card are from my late mothers old button box! Thought it would be a nice way of having a touch of Mom on the card. My sister is a great cat lover so she will appreciate  the image. I once found a little kitty and she took her in and kept her for years and years, until her time was over. She was a wonderfrul cat and  so is my sister !

Merging digital images is so much fun and you can make the most fabulous pictures! In this case there are two different images , Doodle Pantry's  Critter Top Cats  and a CDAC Progressive Challenge #14 image by 'Shelly's images' for the basket. Actually the Doodle Pantry image is one kitty and for this card it was added three time to the basket,  each one made smaller than the other. Delish isn't it. Well I am no expert on merging  and after giving Paint Net all kinds of verbal   abuse  I had to call in my buddy Dawn from Stamp 'n' Play and  the above is  the final product merged together by Dawn!Thank you Dawn you are always so willing to help and I appreciate it so much!

The Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge #21 is still on  and you get a free image just for participating , plus a prize if you win. Head on over and join the fun! The current challenge closes March 24th  with the winners announced March 25th. The theme is to 'just use a Doodle Pantry image'!

Relaxing

I made this card on one of my stamp 'n' play dates with my Stamping buddy Dawn. The image was a freebie from Sassy Studio Designs. We had a such a fun  time making the cards (see Dawns here), drinking coffee and babbling on:O). We are trying to learn how to colour hair with markers and I still have a long ways to go, but not about to give up!

Card Details:
Stamp:  Friday Freebie from Sassy Studio Designs called  Bubble Bath; the background stamp is Rubbernecker's  Bubble background
Punch: Fiskers for the border edging -wove turquoise/teal ribbon through the edging and a Martha Stewart punch for the flower branches
Die Cuts:Spellbinders for the ovals, Stampin' Up  Sizzlits set Birds&Blooms for the flower
Other: Crimper for the solid part of the edged border, a pearl, and epoxy stickers for the bubbles (or at least some of the bubbles)
Note: Some of the bubbles  appear to be quite dark in the picture, but IRL they are very light. No matter what picture I took my hands and camera were reflected  in the epoxy stickers. Most annoying - finally used Paint Net to try and remove enough of the reflection out of the bubbles so you could not see the camera or my lovely hands:O) !

Happy Birthday,Sorry I'm Late

I'm crazy about this English Bulldog from Gingerloft, he just looks so remorseful  I want to give  him a hug:O). Plus I am frequently late in getting Birthday cards out , so when I won a Top Three placement from Gingerloft with a free digital image as a prize and after casing their shop I knew exactly which image to pick. He is just perfect for that OMG I forgot to get a card off moment, why anyone would forgive  you ,wouldn't they, when they see his sad face.   I know he is in trouble re the wrecked garden bed  so one could use him for a lot of 'oops' moments couldn't they? Why not head over to Gingerlofts for their latest challenge (theme 'Happy Birthday') and where my little bulldog card is making a guest appearance:O)

Flight of the Butterflies

I have used another  great image from Outlaws CFC by Sandi Huggett  for the challenge over at 'Outlawz' called  Creative Freebie Challenge. The images to be used are from digital  images they have drawn. Entering the challenge enables you to receive the next set of images. Every two weeks they will send you two new images. For  this challenge  I chose the butterfly digital stamp and coloured it with Prismacolor markers and cut it out so I could make it dimensional..  For the center piece of  the card I brayed Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point  Stampin Up ink to some Whisper White paper.   I was trying to create a facsimile of a ski with butterflies flying in it. I added additional punched out butterflies  and a  'thinking of you ' sentiment.. The top layer of the card flips up and leaves room for a message to be written!
