Quilted Little Horse

I will be needing several or more baby themed cards for showers, and birth related events as my extended family seems to be having a population explosion this year  - yaaaay!!I think it is so wonderful, babies seem so scarce these days. I thought this one might be good to include with a little gift. It's not coloured in the soft pastels of baby cards but it cries out for colour and  I followed the example with somewhat different colour  choices  from the coloured version over at Beccy's Place.  I made the horse dimensional  by colouring two images, cutting out one and using double sided  tape mounted it on top of the other.

Card details:
Digital Stamp: Little Horse from Beccy's Place
Paper: Stampin' Up Card Stock Tangerine Tango; Designer Paper Stampin' Up's 'Everyday Enchantment'
Colour Medium: Prismacolor Markers
Die Cuts: Spellbinders Nestabilities  Standard and scalloped circles; Stampin' Up's 'Beautiful Wings'; Provo Craft die set for the little flowers  with the heart; Marianne designs flourish

A simple and fun to make little card!

Challenges:
Beccy's Place June Challenge:  just use one of Beccy's digital images
Crafty Creations Challenges: #176 Embellish it - use three different types of embellishments I used, butterflies, flourish and flowers in a heart pot!
Bearly-Mine Challenges:#41 Anything Goes
Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge: Anything Goes
Love to Create Challenge #21 Anything Goes
Tammy's Scrapin Corner Weekly Challenge #16: Anything Goes any Artist
Sugar Creek Hollow: #17 Circles I think mine lies between vintage and primitive

Father's Day 2012

I made this card for my son to give to his Dad for Father's Day. There is something about Gus that reminds of my lovable hubby, maybe just the knobby knees:O).  My hubby  has been hunting since he was twelve and he lives for hunting season. He thinks it is mostly about being outdoors that he loves. I'm not a hunter nor is our son, I have absolutely zero interest in it   but I do love to cook up a moose stew or roast a wild goose. We eat a lot of game! I had to make a stew out of beef last winter( we had run out of wild meat), it had been years since I had  to do that. Couldn't believe the cost:O).I know a lot of people do not approves of hunting but really nothing goes to waste in our group!

Card details:
Digital Stamp: 'Gus Hunting' from Bugaboo;
Sentiment:  'The Great Outdoors' photopolymer stamp from Little Paper Shop; Whimsy Stamps ticket sentiments with a computer generated 'Happy Father's Day'
Colour Medium: Prismacolors Markers ; Copics for the flesh tones

Scarlet Paintbrush

My camera did not seem able to accurately capture the true beauty of this flower or focus it all that well either. Up here in Alberta we called it Indian Paintbrush although I have also heard it called prairie fire. As kids we assumed it was used  by the Indians to make  Indian war paint, but don't know if that was true or not!
