With Sympathy

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring this weeks Craft Your Passion challenge with the theme of  '3D It   - 3 dimensional creation or decoupaged image'. I do hope you take a look and decide to participate!  I used an outline  image from the  'Holy Land Flowers 1' stamp set . This stamp set contains  outline images and sentiments.   I colored highlighted the flowers using Prismacolor markers. The flowers were made dimensional by cutting out the image and layering segments on top of the original (using foam tape). I added the layered butterflies to give additional depth to the card. I heat embossed the tan cardstock with a floral pattern  and scored the dark brown paper with my score pal.

My stamping buddy and I were in a little shop outside of town when we found this oh so great cartoon buzzard stamp and I just had to have it. I know a couple of people who will be getting this for their birthday. The  stamp comes with a ''happy birthday from the bluebird of happiness' sentiment which I have stamped on the inside. I have kept the card relatively free of embellishments as it is going to a male relative and as my husband once told me "we don't like a lot of frill"  :O)!

Stamp: Art Impressions Buzzard Set ; back ground stamp  Impression Obsession 'Spatter'
Paper: Stampin Up whisper white, basic black, gumball green, tangerine tango (for the pinwheel), summer sun

Embossing folder: crackled

Old Wheelbarrow

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring this week's Sugar Creek Hollow  challenge with the theme 'wheels' (must be vintage or shabby chic)'!   I find both categories, vintage and shabby chic very hard to do and I invariably  struggle to come up with a design so I tend to shy away from doing them. Now having said that  I love cards that reflect these categories  and admire those that do them well. Can't wait to see what everyone come up with.   I do hope you take a look and decide to participate.  I used two pre-coloured images from several Doodle Pantry stamp sets and one outline stamp. These three were digitally merged to create one scene:

Lucy and Kitty

I have had this Sarah Kay Photopolymer Clear Stamp from Stampavie for a long time and finally got around to using it. She is coloured with Prismacolor markers and the flesh tones are coloured with Copics. The blue background frame is from a new Spellbinders die I bought recently called Decorative Labels Twenty-Two. The round circle is die cut  from  a K&Company paper pad called Julianne. This paper was also used for the large background piece. The rest of the papers are from Stampin Up. The yellow cardstock was dry embossed using the  Stampin Up 'Modern Mosaic'embossing folder  Added yellow brads, ribbon, ribbon slider (gift from a friend - thanks Dawn) , a flower and some flourishes cut  from a Marianne Designs die! . Hope you like it.

The Cat

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge  and a marvellous sketch it is!  I do hope you take a look and decide to participate.  I used an outline  image from an older   Doodle Pantry   stamp set called ' Cute Kitten'. I adore this cat and have made several  cards using it. I just like the attitude the cat  gives off. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. This stamp set contains coloured images, outlines ,digital papers and sentiments. I colored the kitten using Prismacolor markers .  The die cuts are all Spellbinders Nestabilities, and I used the Stampin up Punch Modern labels for the sentiment. The indentations on the vertical black strip were made using a Fiskers punch and cutting ends off to leave an opening!
